Supermarkets start selling Easter Eggs on Boxing Day as soon as Christmas over
Bewildered Britons have condemned Morrisons for cramming aisles with Easter stocks less than a day after Christmas - with hundreds of days until the next major holiday.

Morrisons has stunned supermarket shoppers after they found the chain had started cramming its aisles with easter goods just one day after Christmas. Britons have slammed the supermarket chain for prematurely jumping into 2023 after filling shops with dedicated displays of chocolate eggs and Easter bunnies on December 26. People have publicly shamed the move and accused it of turning the religious festival into a "commercial cash cow".

Twitter users snapped pictures of aisles in Canterbury, Kent, and Neath, outside Swansea, stocked to the brim with Easter confectionery.
Furious customers have taken to the social media platform to voice their disapproval.
One user, Rhi, said: "I’ve just seen creme eggs and Easter chocolate in Morrisons idk what to do with myself."
Vickie Vickers said Morrisons was "having a laugh, adding: "WTF".

Others have begged shops to consider the best time to wheel out their Easter stocks.
Marc Williamson said: "If you sell easter eggs on boxing day, you’re just a commercial cash cow."
And Patrick McNicholas asked: "December 27 and the Easter stuff is out. Where is the line, @Morrisons?"
User Anne said the decision was "stupid", and pleaded for shops to wait a few additional months.
She added: "Why can't we just have them out in March/April, whenever Easter is. It's so wrong."
Morrisons shops may have received stocks before Christmas Eve, according to some posting on the social media platform.
One Morrisons Community Champion named Rachel said her shop in Rogerstone had received Easter items.
Writing on December 24, she said: "We’ve had Easter stuff begin arriving at Morrisons Rogerstone."
Retired teacher Ian Parsons claimed he had "joked with some shelf stackers" about stocking Morrisons with eggs before Christmas.
He said they "laughed and said that the first five boxes were already in the warehouse".
Easter 2023 is still several months away, with the occasion due on April 9 next year.
While controversial, the move to roll out stocks this early is not unusual, as shops follow the same pattern each year.
In 2021, the Central England Co-op supermarket chain revealed that shops wish to meet customer demand.
The shop revealed it had sold 25,000 Easter items between Boxing Day and the first few days of New Year 2022.
Store manager Jamie Joyce told Yorkshire Live that people struggle to resist the "lure of a crème egg or a packet of mini eggs".
